Ohio Edison To Re-Power Plant With Biomass Fuels

Law360, New York (August 17, 2009, 3:06 PM EDT) -- Ohio Edison, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp., has agreed to re-power a coal-fired power plant in eastern Ohio using mostly renewable biomass fuels under recent changes to a consent decree with state and federal authorities.

The electric provider will re-power its R.E. Burger units four and five near Shadyside, Ohio, along the Ohio River under the terms of a modified consent decree submitted last week in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
