Re/Max Antitrust Settlement Nixed For Now

Law360, New York (August 19, 2009, 1:55 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to approve a $46,250 settlement that would have cleared Re/Max International Inc. as a defendant in a class action accusing real estate companies of conspiring to inflate the price of commissions for purchases in Kentucky.

Judge Thomas B. Russell's ruling, issued Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky, said the settlement was so small that it made sense to save costs by waiting to notify the class until details of other settlements reported to the court...
