Microsoft Appeals $290M Patent Infringement Ruling

Law360, New York (August 19, 2009, 1:44 PM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. is seeking an expedited appeal of a $290 million federal court judgment holding the company liable for infringing a patent for document-formatting software held by Canadian company i4i Inc.

The software giant said it filed a motion Tuesday with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit asking for the expedited review of its appeal and for an order staying the permanent injunction while the appeal is pending.
