Life Time Fitness Wins Minn. FLSA Action On Appeal

Law360, New York (August 27, 2009, 4:04 PM EDT) -- A Minnesota appeals court has handed Life Time Fitness Inc. victory in a class action alleging the fitness chain violated the state's Fair Labor Standards Act with a corporate bonus-pay plan, ruling that employees performing certain duties and guaranteed a predetermined wage for each workweek are exempt from the act.

The Minnesota Court of Appeals on Tuesday reversed and remanded a county district court order denying Life Time's motion for summary judgment in the suit.
