Ex-Members Of Metal Band M.O.D. Can't Use Logo, Label Says

Law360 (August 14, 2019, 9:12 PM EDT) -- Influential heavy metal record label Megaforce Records Inc. slammed two former Methods of Destruction members with a trademark lawsuit Wednesday seeking to block their bid to use the band’s logo for music sales, saying they left the act way before its decadeslong ascent to fame in the hardcore scene.

Timothy McMurtrie and Kenneth Ballone both left the band after the release of its first album more than 30 years ago, yet have filed an application to use the marks M.O.D., Methods of Destruction and variations to promote DVDs, audio recordings and live performances, according to a lawsuit filed in New Jersey...
