Sabre Rattling: Merging Co. Gives DOJ Lawsuit Deadline

Law360 (August 16, 2019, 5:45 PM EDT) -- Travel industry technology provider Sabre Corp. all but dared the U.S. Department of Justice to sue it Wednesday as the company tries to push a planned $360 million acquisition past the finish line. And while the tactic may seem brazen at first glance, attorneys say there can be good reasons for making such a move. 

Nine months after inking the deal for Farelogix, Sabre told the DOJ it intends to close its purchase on Aug. 21 unless enforcers file a lawsuit seeking to block the transaction, in effect imposing a deadline on the government to decide whether to challenge the deal...
