Immigration Attys Seek Answers On New H-1B Registration

Law360 (August 19, 2019, 4:56 PM EDT) -- A coalition of 15 organizations representing U.S. employees, immigration attorneys and higher education institutions have asked U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to clarify whether a proposed overhaul to the H-1B visa application process will be rolled out by the 2021 filing cycle.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the American Immigration Lawyers Association and several other trade groups asked USCIS in a Friday letter to confirm by Sept. 15 if an online system allowing H-1B applicants to first electronically register with the agency will be implemented by April 1, 2020, the day when employers start filing petitions for the 2021 fiscal year....
