Cheese, Butter Buyers Fight Bid To Nix Antitrust Classes

Law360 (August 19, 2019, 7:09 PM EDT) -- Buyers of cheese and butter accusing milk producers of orchestrating a price-fixing scheme through a now-canceled program to slaughter dairy cows urged an Illinois federal court Friday not to nix a pair of classes certified in 2017.

The buyers filed an opposition to the producers' decertification bid, arguing that nothing has changed to impact the court's decision to certify the classes in September 2017, and said the effort is "procedurally improper, untimely and wholly lacking in merit."
