Patients Claim Allergan Covered Up Risks Of Breast Implants
By Ryan Boysen (August 28, 2019, 4:43 PM EDT) -- Allergan Inc. used regulatory loopholes to conceal a strong link between its textured silicone breast implants and a rare form of cancer and is now refusing to pay for surgery to remove the implants following a massive recall, according to a new proposed class action.
In Tuesday's 26-page complaint in California federal court, anonymous female plaintiffs A.B. and C.D. said they've both fallen victim to that rare form of immune system cancer, breast-implant-associated anaplastic large-cell lymphoma, or BIA-ALCL, and are now faced with paying out of pocket to remove the Allergan Biocell textured implants that likely caused it.
