Calif. VF Worker Seeks Class Cert. In FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (August 28, 2009, 4:01 PM EDT) -- A former VF Corp. employee has asked a judge to certify a class in a suit accusing the apparel retailer of not paying its California workers for missed meal periods or work done outside their shifts.

In a motion filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, plaintiff Esperanza Mateo claims there are questions of law and facts common to the proposed class, and that her claims are typical of the claims of the class.
