2nd Circ. Wants More Info On $23M Soybean Ruling

Law360, New York (August 31, 2009, 7:11 PM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has asked a district court for more information about its decision to award Standard Chartered Bank nearly $24 million in a suit the bank filed against agricultural exporter AWB Ltd. over contracts related to soybean exports to Indonesia.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit on Monday said that Judge Alvin K. Hellerstein of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York hadn't provided enough information in his opinion granting Standard Chartered the award.
