Comair, Mechanics Union Reach Agreement

Law360, New York (October 18, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bankrupt Delta Airlines subsidiary Comair and its mechanics union reached a deal Wednesday to amend the workers' contracts to provide additional benefits.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace agreed in January to make contract changes that would save the airline $1 million annually, according to union spokesperson Joe Tiberi.

The amendments are enhancements, allowed under a clause under the January contract. Tiberi said he could not detail the changes until the information is presented to members of the union on Friday.
