Feds Ease Restrictions On Family Visits To Cuba

Law360, New York (September 4, 2009, 3:52 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control has amended regulations on U.S.-Cuban relations, easing restrictions on family visits, family remittances and telecommunications.

OFAC, an office within the U.S. Department of the Treasury, said in a news release Thursday that the new rules, which amend the Cuban Assets Control Regulations, represent steps toward “implementing the president's initiative” to “reach out to the Cuban people in support of their desire to freely determine their country's future.”
