Exxon Gets Claims Pared In Leaky Tank Cleanup Suit

Law360, New York (September 4, 2009, 5:08 PM EDT) -- Exxon Mobil Corp. has dodged several claims made by the owners of a property formerly owned by Mobil Oil Co., accusing Exxon of refusing to play its part in the cleanup of contamination caused by leaking underground storage tanks.

Judge Claudia Wilken of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Wednesday granted in part Exxon's motion to dismiss the claims, throwing out four allegations while also granting the plaintiffs leave to amend their complaint.
