IFinex Asks Calif. Court For Help In Search For $880M

By Philip Rosenstein (October 21, 2019, 9:23 PM EDT) -- IFinex, the parent company of cryptocurrency trading platform Bitfinex, has requested that a California federal court help it secure discovery from an individual related to the firm Crypto Capital, as it seeks to recover $880 million through a slate of foreign proceedings.

Bitfinex, operated by British Virgin Islands-based iFinex, began regularly using Panama-based Crypto Capital in 2017 as a payment processor to service its clients' withdrawal and deposit requests.
