SPH Sues Dell, Dozens More Over Wireless Patents

Law360, New York (September 10, 2009, 4:52 PM EDT) -- Patent-holding company SPH America LLC has accused dozens of technology companies — including Dell Inc., Amazon.com Inc., Hewlett-Packard Co. and Nokia Corp. — of infringing patents for digital transmission and wireless communications technology through the defendants' cameras, phones and other products.

SPH filed an amended complaint Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia to recover treble damages for what it claims constitutes willful infringement of five of its patents.
