Citing Complexities, Solutia Seeks Removal Extension

Law360, New York (October 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Solutia Inc. has asked a federal bankruptcy court to extend the deadline for the bankrupt chemical products maker to remove civil actions, the latest development in a case complicated by environmental liabilities and disputes with creditors.

In a motion filed with the court on Thursday, counsel for Solutia asked U.S. bankruptcy Judge Prudence Carter Beatty to allow the debtors to file notices of removal of pending civil actions up to and including February 5, 2007.
