Calif. Driver Seeks Class Cert. In State Farm Action

Law360, New York (September 11, 2009, 11:47 AM EDT) -- A California motorist accusing State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. of breach of contract for making certain deductions that reduced the amount of money the insurer paid customers for total loss vehicles has asked a federal judge to certify a class in the $23.5 million action.

The motion, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, says the case is ideally suited for class certification.
