Winston & Strawn Partner Tapped For Top BIS Post

Law360, New York (September 14, 2009, 3:40 PM EDT) -- President Barack Obama has nominated Winston & Strawn LLP partner Eric Hirschhorn to take over the top role at the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security.

The president announced Hirschhorn as his pick for under secretary of commerce for export administration and for head of the BIS on Friday.

If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Hirschhorn would return to a familiar post. He served as deputy assistant secretary for export administration at the DOC nearly three decades ago, under President Jimmy Carter....
