News Corp. Takes Aim At Italian Media Companies

Law360, New York (September 16, 2009, 8:01 PM EDT) -- News Corp. has hit a pair of Italian media companies owned by Mediaset Group with a lawsuit alleging they violate European Union competition laws by denying its subsidiary an opportunity to purchase advertising spots on Italian networks.

On Wednesday News Corp. revealed the suit, filed in the Court of Milan against RTI SpA and Publitalia '80 SpA on behalf of wholly owned subsidiary Sky Italia.
