Weight Watchers Hits Nestlé With Trademark Suit

Law360, New York (September 17, 2009, 2:28 PM EDT) -- Weight Watchers International Inc. has filed a trademark infringement suit against Nestlé USA Inc. and subsidiary Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream Inc. for allegedly using its well-known point system on a line of diet frozen foods and ice cream.

In a suit filed Sept. 16 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, WWI says the Switzerland-based food company has used Weight Watchers trademarks on the packaging for its Stouffer's Lean Cuisine frozen entrees and Skinny Cow-brand ice cream.
