Skilling Sentenced To 24 Years, Pleads Innocence

Law360, New York (October 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Jeffrey Skilling went down fighting on Monday as a federal judge handed the former chief executive officer of Enron Corp. a 24.3-year prison sentence for his role in the colossal securities fraud that led to the energy trader's collapse.

“I can't imagine more remorse," Skilling told U.S. District Judge Sim Lake before he was sentenced, according to Bloomberg. “That being said...I am innocent of these charges. I am innocent of every one of these charges."
