Lowes Settles Overtime Class Action For $29.5M

Law360, New York (September 23, 2009, 1:46 PM EDT) -- A California judge has approved a $29.5 million settlement that resolves a class action brought by a group of Lowes Home Improvement Warehouse Inc. employees who claimed they were forced to work off-the-clock without pay.

Judge Aurelio Munoz of the Los Angeles Superior Court gave a final nod to the deal in an order Tuesday, almost eight years after the wage-and-hour suit was originally filed against the retail chain.
