Law360 (October 25, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Dewey Ballantine LLP stands to give its employment law practice a boost though a proposed merger with Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Following the rampant trend of law firm consolidation, the two firms disclosed on Wednesday that they are in talks to merge.

Dewey’s clients in the employment law arena stand to benefit the most from the merger, which the partners at both firms must still approve.
