Law360 (February 10, 2020, 7:33 PM EST) -- After a first-of-its-kind ruling from the Third Circuit clearing the way for Philadelphia to begin enforcing its ban on employers inquiring about salary histories of job candidates, experts say they expect business groups to back down on potential legal challenges to pay equity laws.
The ruling handed down Thursday rejected arguments from the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce that the city's ordinance, which is intended to help close wage gaps between men, women and minority employees, violated the free speech rights of employers.
