Dental Suppliers Shut Down Patient Antitrust Litigation

Law360 (February 13, 2020, 7:26 PM EST) -- Major U.S. dental suppliers won their bid to shut down a patient’s proposed class suit alleging they bumped up the cost of dental care with an illegal price-fixing deal after an Illinois federal judge found Thursday that the patients' connection to the claimed conspiracy wasn't solid enough.

Illinois urologist R. Lawrence Hatchett had been looking to represent a class dental patients who believe they were overcharged for crowns, molar extractions and other procedures that were carried out with allegedly overpriced products from Henry Schein Inc., Patterson Companies Inc. and Benco Dental Supply.
