Dean Skelos Cites Silver Ruling In Bid For 3rd Trial In 2nd Circ.

Law360 (February 13, 2020, 7:36 PM EST) -- Attorneys for former New York lawmaker Dean Skelos urged the Second Circuit to allow him another retrial on corruption charges, saying the court's recent decision in U.S. v. Silver raises the possibility that Skelos was convicted on an illegal theory.

Skelos and his son, Adam, were convicted twice on charges tied to jobs and payments prosecutors said the former state Senate majority leader strong-armed out of companies that wanted Dean Skelos to act in their favor.
