NJ County Loses Bid To Block New FEMA Flood Maps

Law360, New York (September 25, 2009, 3:16 PM EDT) -- A New Jersey federal judge has tossed a lawsuit filed by Monmouth County seeking to block the Federal Emergency Management Agency's implementation of new flood insurance rate maps that were to become effective Friday.

Judge Joel A. Pisano on Sept. 23 granted FEMA's motion to dismiss the case in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, at the same time denying the county's motion for a stay as moot.
