Bermuda, Florida Insurance Regulators Forge Deal

Law360, New York (September 25, 2009, 4:50 PM EDT) -- Bermuda’s Monetary Authority and Florida’s Office of Insurance Regulation have signed a formal agreement to facilitate consultation and cooperation in regulatory affairs concerning insurance and consumer issues between the two.

The agencies announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding on Thursday, with the agreement taking effect immediately.

“We are very happy to be building on our existing history of cooperation with our colleagues at the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation by establishing this MOU,” said Matthew Elderfield, CEO of the BMA.
