Trustee Balks At Philly Papers' Investigation Request

Law360, New York (September 29, 2009, 2:20 PM EDT) -- The U.S. trustee for Region 3 has balked at Philadelphia Newspapers LLC's bid to employ an internal investigator in its Chapter 11 case, arguing that the debtor has failed to show such assistance is warranted.

On Monday, U.S. Trustee Roberta DeAngelis entered a limited objection to the debtor's motion to employ SafirRosetti to conduct an internal investigation as to the distribution of the “PMA Reorganization Filing Communication Action Plan,” according to papers filed in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
