Wabtec, Knorr Close To Court Nod On $49M No-Poach Deals
By Matthew Santoni (March 18, 2020, 7:51 PM EDT) -- A Pittsburgh federal judge had only a few questions Wednesday before indicating she was ready to grant preliminary approval to $49 million in settlements Knorr-Bremse AG and Wabtec Corp. have agreed to pay workers over claims the railroad equipment companies kept wages low by agreeing not to compete for each other's employees.
Meeting via teleconference because of travel advisories surrounding the coronavirus outbreak, U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti said she wanted to see a better estimate of the likely payout for members of the proposed settlement class before she will issue an order giving the deal her go-ahead.
