RadioShack Sues Intertan To Terminate Trademark License

Law360, New York (April 8, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Electronics retailer RadioShack has filed a lawsuit against Intertan, citing the "imminent danger of degradation" of its name and trademarks following Circuit City’s planned $284 million acquisition of the Canadian retailer.

The lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Northern Texas in Fort Worth, seeks a temporary injunction barring Intertan from using RadioShack’s brand in Canada within six months.

A hearing on RadioShack's injunction application has been set for May 7.
