Miramax Settles Suit Over Aborted Jane Austen Movie

Law360, New York (October 6, 2009, 6:58 PM EDT) -- Noting that a settlement has been reached, a federal judge has signed off on an order dismissing Miramax Film Corp.'s suit accusing two London-based film production companies of violating the terms of a contract stemming from the development of a movie based on Jane Austen's “Northanger Abbey.”

Judge P. Kevin Castel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Monday signed a stipulation resolving litigation between Miramax and defendants Granada Films Ltd. and London Weekend Television Productions Ltd.
