Willkie Farr Asks Court To Boot Songwriter Suit

Law360, New York (October 8, 2009, 4:28 PM EDT) -- Saying the alleged claims lack particularity, Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP has asked a judge to dismiss a breach of contract lawsuit brought by songwriter Lamont Dozier in a dispute over a deal meant to provide revenue through the securitization of his future music royalties.

In the motion to dismiss filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Willkie also said that the claims made by Dozier, who penned a slew of Motown hits, were barred by New York's three-year statute...
