Judge Tosses Harley-Davidson Stock Suits

Law360, New York (October 9, 2009, 2:08 PM EDT) -- A judge has dismissed proposed securities and Employee Retirement Income Security Act class actions alleging that Harley-Davidson Inc. and its leaders failed to be forthcoming about the motorcycle maker's financial condition, leading to the artificial inflation of the company's stock price.

In a judgment Thursday, Chief Judge C. N. Clevert Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan said the complaints did not meet the pleading requirements required to go forward.
