American Signature Burns Furniture Cross-Claims

Law360, New York (October 9, 2009, 6:26 PM EDT) -- Furniture importer American Signature Inc. has asked a court to throw out a cross-claim by domestic manufacturers challenging the lawfulness of liquidating the company's anti-dumping duties at what could be a reduced rate.

American Signature on Thursday asked the U.S. Court of International Trade to dismiss the cross-claim by the American Furniture Manufacturers Committee for Legal Trade and Vaughan-Bassett Furniture Co. Inc. challenging the lawfulness of liquidation instructions the government issued in July regarding wooden bedroom furniture imported from China in 2006.
