Yahoo Settles Pay-Per-Click Advertisers' Class Action

By Allison Grande (October 13, 2009, 3:29 PM EDT) -- The claims administrator in a class action accusing Yahoo Inc. of breaching its contract with its pay-per-click advertising customers has alerted potential class members to a settlement following the deal's preliminary approval.

Judge Christina A. Snyder of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Sept. 22 approved the distribution of a notice that was e-mailed on Tuesday by Rust Consulting Inc. to members of a provisionally certified settlement class of all direct and indirect purchasers of Yahoo pay-per-click advertisements in the U.S. marketplace from anytime between May 2000 and Sept. 22, 2009.
