Judge Urged To Ax Price-Fix Suit Against Bail Bond Entities

Law360 (June 15, 2020, 7:00 PM EDT) -- Bail bond industry players that are wrapped up in a class action asked a California judge last week to toss the suit, claiming the new accusations from the plaintiffs cherry-picked data to construct their claims and were essentially "warmed over versions" of initial allegations already tossed by the court.

The 28 entities — which include Seaview Insurance Company,Two Jinn Inc., Danielson National Insurance Company, and others — said the class' new claims on the industry's conspiracy to fix nonrefundable premiums on bonds and conceal their ability to offer rebates didn't address issues the court pointed out from its initial complaint....
