NJ Homeowners To Receive Title Insurance Refunds

Law360, New York (October 15, 2009, 3:50 PM EDT) -- A title insurance subsidiary of insurance giant Fidelity National Financial Inc. has reached a $725,000 settlement in a class action dispute in which two New Jersey residents alleged the subsidiary charged homeowners in the state too much for title insurance when they refinanced their mortgages.

Lawyers Title Insurance Corp. and West Milford, N.J., residents William and Teresa Charles filed a joint motion to approve the settlement in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey on Wednesday, potentially ending one of several similar suits...
