Vegetable Producer To Pay Out $3.5M To Workers

Law360 (November 2, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Thousands of field workers will share a more than $3.5 million settlement to compensate them for time they spent being bused to work by their California produce grower employer.

The class action lawsuit, which was filed in August 2000 in the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California, was settled for $3.5 million. But, with attorneys’ fees and expenses, California produce grower D’Arrigo Bros. Co. may end up paying up to $3.6 million.
