Hotel Co. Sues Insurer Over Denial Of Flood Coverage

Law360, New York (October 16, 2009, 5:34 PM EDT) -- Five Star Hotels LLC has alleged Insurance Co. of Greater New York wrongfully denied coverage for charges Five Star incurred after flooding at its Pittsburgh Holiday Inn, in a suit that also claims the insurer breached an agreement over flood cleanup costs.

The hotel operator filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York Wednesday saying INSCO denied property and casualty coverage in violation of the policy and further breached a contract by having Five Star Hotel perform loss mitigation work...
