Panel Confirms FIFA's Life Ban Of Former AFF President

Law360 (July 15, 2020, 9:28 PM EDT) -- The Swiss Court of Arbitration for Sport confirmed a 2019 FIFA decision Tuesday banning former Afghanistan Football Federation President Keramuddin Karim from soccer, following allegations of sexual abuse.

The Adjudicatory Chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee issued its decision last June, finding that Karim violated articles 23 and 25 of the FIFA Code of Ethics, related to "protection of physical and mental integrity" and abuse of position, respectively, according to a Tuesday release from CAS.

In addition to receiving the lifetime ban from national and international soccer, Karim was fined 1 million Swiss francs.
