Trump Administration Hit With 1st Challenge To Work Visa Ban

Law360 (July 15, 2020, 7:28 PM EDT) -- A group of 174 Indian nationals — including seven children — are challenging President Donald Trump's suspension of H-1B work visas and H-4 accompanying family member visas, claiming the rule contradicts the Immigration and Nationality Act and denies them equal protection.

The challengers are U.S.-based foreign workers and their family members who say they have been trapped in India since the Trump administration announced a ban last month on most work visas through the end of 2020, leading the State Department to halt their reentry into the U.S.
