Woodstock Has Long Association With Pot, 2nd Circ. Told

Law360 (July 16, 2020, 7:44 PM EDT) -- The company that owns the rights to the Woodstock music festival asked the Second Circuit on Wednesday to uphold a lower court's ruling that allowed it to continue selling marijuana products under the "Woodstock" name, saying cannabis and the festival have a decades-long association.

Woodstock Ventures LC, which controls the rights to the festival, described the smaller entity Woodstock Roots LLC's attempt to enjoin them as an "end run to grab a piece of the fame associated with" the legacy of the 1969 event and the cannabis culture identified with it.
