US Airways Union Says Oneworld Pact Threatens Jobs

Law360, New York (October 20, 2009, 2:43 PM EDT) -- The union representing US Airways pilots has joined a chorus of voices criticizing Oneworld Alliance's application for an antitrust exemption, saying it could compromise U.S. jobs.

The US Airline Pilots Association, which represents more than 5,000 US Airways pilots, said Monday that it “unequivocally” opposed the bid by American Airlines Inc. for worldwide antitrust immunity with British Airways PLC and Iberia Group, the other members of the Oneworld Alliance — joining other unions who have come out against the proposal arguing that it has the potential...
