Energy Co. Discriminated Against Veteran: Lawsuit

Law360, New York (November 3, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A Desert Storm veteran has filed a suit against Commonwealth Edison and its parent company, alleging that they violated his rights by firing him because of his post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental health issues.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Northern Illinois, claims that ComEd discriminated against Timothy Pruitt’s rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act by placing him on involuntary medical leave, refusing to reinstate him upon his physician’s release,...
