GoDaddy TCPA Class Seeks $10.5M Atty Fees In $35M Deal

Law360 (July 27, 2020, 7:37 PM EDT) -- A settlement class of consumers who said they received unwanted texts from GoDaddy.com has asked an Alabama federal judge to approve more than $10.5 million in attorney fees and expenses, roughly 30% of a $35 million settlement the judge has preliminarily approved.

Counsel from Underwood & Riemer PC and a half-dozen other firms would receive the fee award, according to a motion on Friday that says the 30% request falls within the normal range established by the Eleventh Circuit and reflects the years of work they dedicated to the case.
