Hatch Requests DOJ Probe Into College Bowl System

Law360, New York (October 21, 2009, 6:11 PM EDT) -- Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, said Wednesday in a letter to President Barack Obama that the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division should look into the legality and fairness of college football's Bowl Championship Series.

Hatch has repeatedly lashed out at the system ever since the University of Utah football team went undefeated in 2008 but was not chosen to play in the national championship game.
