Arbitration Task Force Highlights Civility In New Guidelines

Law360 (August 19, 2020, 9:07 PM EDT) -- Concerns about ensuring civility within international arbitration have prompted a task force to issue a set of proposed guidelines outlining the proper code of conduct for lawyers, arbitrators and other participants within proceedings.

The legal profession is generally viewed as a genteel one, with parties addressing judges and each other with courtesy and professionalism. But in international arbitration, it appears that expectation may not be meeting reality.
