Biz Mogul Says Strauss & Malk Malpractice Claims Not Tardy

Law360 (August 13, 2020, 8:56 PM EDT) -- A businessman urged an Illinois federal judge on Wednesday to deny summary judgment bids by Chicago law firm Strauss & Malk LLP and two attorneys, saying his malpractice claims alleging they mishandled his suit against a former partner are not time-barred.

Charles Short III says he didn't know at the time his underlying contract suit against a former business partner was permanently axed in October 2013 that the dismissal of the case had been wrongfully caused by his then-counsel, Strauss & Malk attorney Brad Grayson.
